Birmingham, AL – Following a traffic stop on Thursday, September 3, 2026, detectives from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, alongside SNET, have arrested two individuals in connection with a drug investigation. The incident occurred near the intersection of Shades Creek Parkway and Durham Drive.

According to law enforcement, detectives executed a search warrant following the stop of a Hyundai Elantra, which resulted in the discovery and seizure of six grams of heroin. The suspects were taken into custody on the scene.

Jerrell Markeis Anderson, 21, was arrested on charges of drug trafficking and assigned a $10,000 bond. Dajah Simone Truss, 19, was charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and assigned a $5,000 bond. Both have since been released from the Jefferson County Jail.
