Davidson County, NC Drug Bust: 199 Grams of Fentanyl Seized

Davidson County, NC – A multi-agency narcotics investigation spanning communities near Greensboro resulted in an arrest and the seizure of approximately 199 grams of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and a firearm, authorities announced.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, investigators with the Davidson Anti-Drug Regional Task Force concluded an investigation Aug. 26 involving Jason Jerome Cobb and his alleged involvement in illegal narcotics distribution.

Authorities said investigators executed search warrants at 1403 East Green Street in High Point and 846 Honeysuckle Road in Asheboro. The operation included assistance from police in High Point, Asheboro and Greensboro, along with the Randolph and Guilford county sheriff's offices.

Investigators allegedly recovered approximately 199 grams of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and a firearm during the searches.

Cobb was arrested and faces multiple charges, including trafficking fentanyl, conspiracy to traffic fentanyl, conspiracy to sell and deliver fentanyl, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the sheriff's office.

The charges are allegations, and Cobb is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Authorities said Cobb was placed in the Randolph County Detention Center without bond. He is scheduled to appear in Randolph County District Court on Thursday, Sept. 10, and Guilford County District Court on Friday, Nov. 6.

The Davidson Anti-Drug Regional Task Force is a partnership involving the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, Thomasville and Lexington police departments and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

Authorities said the task force works with other agencies to investigate suspected drug trafficking and reduce the distribution of illegal controlled substances throughout area communities.
