Knox County Authorities Arrest Cincinnati Man on Sex Charges

Knox County, IL – The Knox County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 25-year-old Trevor L. Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio, following an extensive criminal investigation into allegations of sexual abuse and exploitation of children. The arrest marks a significant development in a multi-jurisdictional effort involving agencies across Illinois and Ohio.

According to Sheriff Jack Harlan Jr., the investigation was launched after the department received reports of alleged sexual misconduct involving juvenile victims within Knox County. Detectives developed evidence through witness interviews and extensive coordination with state and federal partners, which ultimately led to the issuance of an arrest warrant by the Knox County Circuit Court.

Jones has been charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. He is currently being held without bond pending further court proceedings. Authorities have maintained that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

"The safety and protection of children will always remain one of the highest priorities of the Knox County Sheriff's Office," Sheriff Harlan stated. "Allegations involving the abuse or exploitation of children are taken extremely seriously, and our investigators are committed to conducting thorough, professional, and victim-centered investigations."

The Sheriff's Office acknowledged the collaboration of the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, Gahanna Division of Police, Greenhills Police Department, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, and various Child Advocacy Centers. The investigation remains active as detectives continue to identify potential additional victims.
