Orland Park Police Report Armed Holdup Attempt and Shooting

Orland Park, IL – The Orland Park Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on September 15, 2026. Officers responded to the area of 15100 Harlem Avenue at approximately 9:00 a.m. following reports of shots fired.

According to preliminary information, a citizen was pumping gasoline at a local Shell station when an individual allegedly attempted an armed robbery. The citizen, who holds an Illinois Concealed Carry License, reportedly discharged a firearm, striking the suspect. The individual was then transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

"The scene was immediately contained, and no suspect is at large. There is no threat to the public at this time," police officials confirmed. Authorities noted that a significant police presence will remain in the area while the investigation proceeds.
