Peoria, IL: Police arrest man following drug investigation

Peoria, IL – Officers from the Peoria Police Department executed a search warrant on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, targeting an individual suspected of involvement in the illegal sale of controlled substances. The operation, which took place in the 700 block of W. Pine Hill Lane, led to the arrest of 34-year-old William M. Morris.

According to police reports, authorities identified Morris outside the residence at approximately 12:21 p.m. and detained him before conducting a thorough search of the premises. During the search, officers reportedly recovered a variety of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. Law enforcement officials also noted that illicit narcotics were discovered on Morris' person at the time of his detention.

Following his arrest, Morris was transported to the Peoria Police Department for booking. He now faces multiple felony charges, including Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Following his processing, he was transferred to the Peoria County Jail to await further court proceedings.
