Spring Grove, IL – A local police officer was involved in a serious traffic accident on Sunday, September 13, 2026, while responding to a call for service. The incident occurred at approximately 2:05 p.m. at the busy intersection of Illinois Route 12 and Spring Grove Road.

According to the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, the officer was en route to assist another jurisdiction when the collision took place. Several individuals sustained injuries during the crash, prompting an immediate request for a specialized investigation. The McHenry County Sheriff's Office Major Crash Investigation Unit was dispatched to the scene to determine the factors leading to the accident.
