Springfield, Illinois – Central Illinois will see mild autumn weather through Saturday, with highs reaching the 70s and cooler nights settling into the 40s and 50s.

According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, the stretch of quiet weather will continue through the remainder of the week. Tonight will bring lows of 51 to 57 degrees, with a 15% chance of patchy drizzle.

Wednesday will remain cooler, with highs ranging from 68 to 73 degrees and overnight lows between 53 and 58. Temperatures climb slightly Thursday, when afternoon readings will range from 69 to 76 degrees before falling to 52 to 57 overnight.

Friday will bring some of the coolest nighttime temperatures shown in the NWS outlook. Daytime highs will range from 70 to 76 degrees, followed by lows of 47 to 53 Friday night.

The mild pattern continues Saturday. Highs will range from 68 to 76 degrees, while nighttime temperatures will fall to between 50 and 56.

No significant weather hazards are highlighted in the NWS outlook, giving residents a relatively quiet stretch for travel and outdoor activities through the remainder of the workweek and into Saturday. Drivers could encounter patchy drizzle tonight, however, and should be prepared for locally damp pavement.

Temperatures will generally remain in the upper 60s to mid-70s during the day through Saturday, with cooler conditions after sunset. Residents planning outdoor activities should account for the larger temperature swings, particularly Friday night when some locations could fall into the upper 40s.
