Aurora, IL – Police are asking residents across Aurora and the western Chicago suburbs to be on the lookout for a missing 15-year-old girl who has not returned home after leaving in the early morning hours of Oct. 1.

According to the Aurora Police Department, Mariel Guzman-Pasillas, 15, was reported missing after leaving her home and not returning. Police said she was last seen at approximately 1:30 a.m. Oct. 1.

Authorities describe Mariel as approximately 5 feet tall and 98 pounds. Police said she has nose piercings and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts.

The department issued a public appeal Sunday seeking the community's help locating the teenager. Police did not provide additional details about where in Aurora she was last seen or where investigators believe she may have gone.
