Celina Man Arrested for Possession of 51 Grams of Fentanyl

Celina, OH – A routine traffic stop led to a significant drug seizure on Friday, September 4, 2026, as Darke County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 38-year-old Celina man. Adam C. Boeckman was taken into custody after a joint investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's detectives and the Grand Lake Drug Task Force resulted in the discovery of approximately 51 grams of fentanyl in his possession.

The incident began when Boeckman was pulled over by deputies for a speeding violation on Arcanum Bears Mill Road near US 36. During the stop, a drug-detecting K9 unit from the Coldwater Police Department alerted officers to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle. A subsequent probable cause search revealed the baggie of fentanyl, a quantity officials described as lethal enough to potentially kill 25,500 people—roughly half the estimated population of Darke County.

Boeckman is currently being held in the Darke County Jail and is awaiting arraignment in the Darke County Common Pleas Court. He has been charged with possession of drugs, a first-degree felony. If convicted, Boeckman faces a prison sentence of three to 11 years and a potential fine of $20,000.00.

Sheriff Mark Whittaker expressed his gratitude to the collaborating agencies, including the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, the Grand Lake Drug Task Force, and both the Celina and Coldwater Police Departments. Officials emphasized that this collaborative work is vital to keeping illicit narcotics off local streets and ensuring the safety of the community. The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of regional law enforcement to combat the spread of dangerous opioids.
