Ohio Fall Weather: Cooler Air Settles In This Week

Cincinnati, Ohio – Fall begins Tuesday with below-normal temperatures settling across the region and shower chances continuing into Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio, afternoon highs will remain mostly in the upper 60s to lower 70s through the weekend. The cooler pattern arrives as the autumnal equinox marks the beginning of astronomical fall Tuesday.

Regional temperatures are expected to peak near 69 degrees Tuesday before falling into the lower 60s overnight. Wednesday's high is around 67, followed by about 69 Thursday, 68 Friday and 69 Saturday. Sunday could become slightly warmer, with the regional high reaching about 71.

The best opportunity for rain comes Wednesday. The Weather Service graphic shows precipitation chances increasing to roughly 36% to 38% during part of the day before dropping Wednesday night. Chances fall to about 15% and then 5%, with predominantly dry weather taking over Thursday and continuing through much of the weekend.

Overnight temperatures will also make the change of seasons noticeable across the Cincinnati region and surrounding parts of southwest Ohio. Regional lows shown by the Weather Service fall into the 50s during much of the period, with the coldest readings approaching 50 degrees Friday morning and dipping into the upper 40s during the weekend.
