Idaho Weather Alert: 87°F Boise Heat Snaps Saturday as Cold Front Brings 75% Rain Chance

Boise, Idaho – Temperatures around southwest Idaho will surge into the 80s Saturday before a strong cold front drives rain and possible thunderstorms across the region, knocking Boise from a high near 87 degrees Saturday to about 67 Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, warmer-than-normal temperatures will continue through Saturday before the front crosses the area late in the day. Moderate to high precipitation chances will spread across the region, with mountain communities expected to receive the bulk of the showers and thunderstorms.

Boise’s precipitation chance climbs to about 65% Saturday evening and 75% around midnight, based on the agency’s latest graphic. Caldwell reaches about 60% Saturday afternoon, while Nampa and Ontario peak near 65%. McCall carries some of the highest probabilities, reaching 70% Saturday evening and 80% around midnight.

The temperature swing will be equally noticeable. Caldwell falls from 86 Saturday to 68 Sunday, while Nampa drops from 85 to 67. Mountain Home could reach 90 Saturday before topping out near 69 Sunday.

Residents with Saturday evening plans should keep rain gear nearby and watch for thunderstorm updates, particularly in mountain areas.

The colder air remains in place Monday, with daytime highs generally in the upper 50s and 60s across the region.
