Monroe County, IN Crash Update: Bloomington Motorcyclist Dies

Bloomington, IN – A 61-year-old Bloomington man has died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash Friday near South Fairfax Road and East Will Sowders Road in Monroe County, authorities announced Sunday.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the motorcyclist was involved in the crash Friday, Sept. 12. The sheriff's office issued an update Sunday confirming that the rider had died as a result of his injuries.

Authorities have not publicly identified the man. His name is being withheld while officials work to notify his next of kin.

The crash occurred near the intersection of South Fairfax Road and East Will Sowders Road, south of Bloomington. The area is in Monroe County, roughly 50 miles south of Indianapolis.

The sheriff's office did not provide additional information in its update about what led to the crash, whether another vehicle was involved or the circumstances surrounding the collision.
