St. Louis, MO Hit-and-Run: Police Seek Driver in Woman’s Death

St. Louis, MO – Police are asking the public for help identifying whoever was responsible for a fatal hit-and-run that left a 56-year-old woman dead after she was struck along Olive in St. Louis.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Rochelle Taylor was struck by a vehicle Thursday, Aug. 20, 2026, in the 3900 block of Olive.

Taylor later died from injuries sustained in the crash, police said.

Investigators said there were no known witnesses to the incident and no surveillance footage has been located that captured what happened. Police are now seeking information from anyone who may know something about the vehicle or person involved.

The department’s 5th District detectives are continuing to investigate the fatal collision and are urging anyone with information, even if it appears minor, to come forward.

A police alert released Tuesday identifies the case as a fatal hit-and-run and asks the public for assistance as detectives work to determine who struck Taylor and left the scene.

Authorities have not released a description of the vehicle involved or identified a suspect.
