Darke County Crash Leaves Two Hospitalized Wednesday Morning

Darke County, OH – A major accident involving four vehicles resulted in two individuals being transported to the hospital on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. The collision occurred in the 9200 block of US 36 at approximately 5:43 a.m., drawing a response from Darke County Deputies, Gettysburg Fire and Rescue, and Bradford Rescue.

According to the Darke County Sheriff's Office, the preliminary investigation suggests that a white 2026 F250, operated by 39-year-old Chuck Fry of Gettysburg, was traveling west on US 36 when the vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic. The truck allegedly side-swiped a 2026 Freightliner driven by 34-year-old John Gibson of Piqua.

Following the initial contact, the F250 continued west and struck a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by 31-year-old Clayton Glunt of Union City head-on. A fourth vehicle, a 2017 Ram driven by 36-year-old Sean Rouse of Greenville, was forced off the right side of the road in the aftermath of the initial impact.

Emergency responders treated Fry, Gibson, and Rouse at the scene, and all three were released without injuries. However, Glunt and his passenger, identified as Derrick Taylor, were transported to Wayne Healthcare with suspected minor injuries. The accident remains under active investigation by local authorities.
