Delaware County, PA Missing Teen Case Renewed After 51 Years

Media, PA – More than five decades after 15-year-old Wendy Eaton disappeared while walking through Media in Delaware County, Pennsylvania State Police are renewing their request for information that could help determine what happened to her.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the Troop K Criminal Investigation Assessment Unit continues to investigate Eaton's May 17, 1975, disappearance and is asking anyone with information to contact investigators.

Police said Eaton's family left their Media home that day to play golf at a local country club while she remained home sunbathing. Later that afternoon, Eaton reportedly told a friend she planned to walk to a store to buy a birthday gift for her brother.

She was last seen at approximately 3:05 p.m. near Indian Lane and Media Station Road, about three blocks from her family's home, according to police. She was reportedly walking toward downtown Media and was never seen again.

Eaton was wearing a yellow sleeveless terry cloth blouse, cutoff blue jean shorts and white sneakers with a blue stripe, police said.

When her parents returned home, investigators said they found her purse, clothing and other belongings still there. Police said bloodhounds later tracked Eaton's scent to the intersection where she was last seen, but investigators found no trace of her beyond that location.

Pennsylvania State Police are asking anyone with information about Eaton's disappearance to call Troop K at 215-452-5216 or PSP Tips at 1-800-472-8477. Police say information that helps solve an unsolved case may qualify for a cash reward.

The investigation remains ongoing.
