LaGrange Police Conduct Search for Missing 17-Year-Old

LaGrange, NY – The New York State Police are currently engaged in an active investigation within the Town of LaGrange as they work to locate 17-year-old Matthew Haass. Officers have been canvassing the area and maintaining a heightened presence as the search continues.

According to the New York State Police, the teenager is described as being approximately 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 3 inches tall. He weighs about 125 pounds. At the time he went missing, Haass was last seen wearing black shorts and socks.

Authorities have reassured local residents and motorists that there is no immediate threat to the general public at this time. However, those traveling through the town may notice an increased number of troopers and patrol vehicles as the search operation moves forward.

Law enforcement officials are asking anyone who may have seen the teen or who possesses information regarding his current whereabouts to contact 911 immediately. State Police indicated that additional details regarding the investigation will be provided to the public as they become available.
