Northern Indiana Weather: 46°F Lows Tonight Give Way to 92°F Heat and Storm Risk Tuesday

Fort Wayne, Indiana – Northern Indiana residents can open the windows tonight as temperatures fall as low as 46 degrees, but the break will not last long. Monday brings highs in the 70s before temperatures surge as high as 92 degrees Tuesday, when thunderstorms could also produce isolated damaging winds.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, overnight lows will range from 46 to 53 degrees. Monday stays comfortable, with lower humidity, highs of 71 to 76 and nighttime lows between 54 and 63.
Conditions change sharply Tuesday. Highs will range from 83 to 92 degrees as humidity increases, while overnight lows remain between 63 and 68. The agency places rain and thunderstorm chances at 40% to 70% across the region.
A Marginal Risk for severe weather is also in place Tuesday, meaning an isolated severe thunderstorm capable of damaging winds is possible.
Fort Wayne and surrounding northern Indiana communities should use Monday's quieter conditions to prepare for Tuesday's heat and storms. Residents should secure loose outdoor items and keep weather alerts available. Drivers should prepare for rapidly changing road conditions if thunderstorms develop.
Monday remains the region's coolest and driest day before heat, humidity and increasing thunderstorm chances return Tuesday.
