Gaylord, Michigan – Dry weather holds across northern Michigan through the weekend as daytime temperatures gradually climb into the lower 70s.

According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, high pressure and dry easterly flow will control the region's weather for the next several days. Rain chances remain minimal even into the weekend.

Wednesday will be sunny, with highs ranging from 63 to 70 degrees across northern Michigan. Temperatures fall considerably after sunset, with overnight lows ranging from 35 to 46 degrees.

The gradual warming trend begins Thursday. Sunshine continues as highs reach 64 to 71 degrees, followed by overnight lows of 37 to 47.

Friday brings another small increase, with highs from 66 to 72 degrees under sunny skies. Temperatures again fall into the 37-to-47-degree range overnight.

The warmest conditions shown in the five-day outlook arrive this weekend. Saturday will be sunny with highs from 67 to 73 degrees, while Sunday brings some clouds and temperatures from 66 to 73.

The prolonged dry stretch should limit weather-related problems for travel and outdoor activities across northern Michigan. Residents heading out early in the day should still prepare for chilly conditions, with morning temperatures considerably lower than afternoon readings.

High pressure remains the dominant influence through the weekend. Temperatures gradually rise through Saturday, while rain chances stay minimal through Sunday.
