Emlenton, PA – Pennsylvania State Police Troop E, based at the Franklin Station, have renewed their request for public assistance in the long-standing cold case regarding the disappearance of Doris Jean Stalker. A $5,000 reward is currently being offered for information that leads to the resolution of the case.

The disappearance occurred on Monday, November 28, 1983. According to police reports, Stalker, a 54-year-old resident of Hilliards, Butler County, had traveled with her husband to a pharmacy in Mariasville, Pennsylvania. Upon finding the pharmacy closed, the couple proceeded to the former Super Duper market on River Avenue in Emlenton.

Mr. Stalker reported entering the market while his wife waited in their vehicle. He stated that he was inside for approximately six to seven minutes. When he returned to the car at about 8:00 p.m., he discovered the passenger-side door open and his wife missing. Her purse remained inside the vehicle.

An extensive search was launched the following day, involving state police, volunteer firefighters, and bloodhounds, while divers searched the nearby Allegheny River. Despite these efforts, no trace of Mrs. Stalker was ever located. She was described as 5'0" tall, weighing 100 pounds, with brown eyes and short, dark brown hair. She suffered from an arthritic condition that restricted her movement and was wearing a 3/4 length imitation brown leather coat, blue jeans, and brown suede shoes at the time of her disappearance.
