Spotsylvania Resident Charged With Bomb Threat Against ADAMS Center

Loudoun County, VA – A 50-year-old Spotsylvania County man has been arrested following a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) investigation into an alleged threat made against the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Center.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began when detectives were alerted to a comment posted on the ADAMS Center's social media page. The comment allegedly indicated that an individual intended to deliver an explosive device to an event hosted by the center.

On September 18, LCSO detectives, in coordination with the Virginia State Police and the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office, executed multiple search warrants at a residence in the 6800 block of Luce Lane in Spotsylvania. Following the evidence collection, authorities moved to apprehend the suspect.

On September 19, Adam Sawyer, 50, of Spotsylvania, was taken into custody by the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office. Sawyer was officially charged with one count of Threats to Bomb.

Following his arrest, the suspect was released on an unsecured bond pending further court proceedings. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office issued a statement extending gratitude to the Fairfax County Police Department, the Virginia State Police, and the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office for their collaborative assistance throughout the investigation.
