Vermont Police Seek Tips in 31-Year-Old Unsolved Homicide

Milton, VT – The Vermont State Police are renewing calls for public assistance as they mark the 31st anniversary of the discovery of Michael Gembarowski’s remains. The 36-year-old was found deceased in his residence on September 9, 1995, during a welfare check conducted by the Milton Police Department.

According to investigators, the death was determined to be a homicide. Despite extensive efforts over the past three decades, the case remains unsolved. Officials are currently using the anniversary of the discovery to reach out to the community for any potential leads that could bring closure to the case.

The Vermont State Police have a dedicated Major Crimes Unit assigned to this case and other cold files.
