Wilmington Weather: Breezy With Light Showers

Wilmington, North Carolina – Breezy north winds gusting to 25 mph will accompany cooler temperatures and occasional light showers Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, mostly cloudy skies will prevail as northerly winds blow around 10 to 15 mph, with gusts of 20 to 25 mph. Passing sprinkles and light showers may occur at times.
High temperatures will reach the mid- to upper 70s inland. Coastal areas will run slightly warmer, with readings in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. Southern portions of the region have the greatest chance of reaching or exceeding 80.
The combination of clouds, northerly winds and lower temperatures will bring a more fall-like feel to southeastern North Carolina. The Weather Service information does not indicate widespread heavy rain or thunderstorms.
Drivers should be prepared for brief changes in road conditions where showers develop. Gusty winds could also be noticeable on exposed roads and bridges, although no specific travel disruptions are indicated.
Clouds remain Wednesday night, when isolated showers are possible. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid-60s, with the warmest conditions along the coast.
Northerly winds continue around 10 mph overnight, with gusts around 20 mph. Residents should expect the breezy, mostly cloudy pattern and occasional light showers to persist through Wednesday night.
