Wisconsin unleaded gas average rises 24 cents in a day

(The Center Square) - Wisconsin gas prices rose to an average of $4.36 per gallon for unleaded on Thursday, trailing the $4.46 per gallon national average according to GasBuddy data.

The average price rose 24 cents from a day before, according to the American Automobile Association.

The Great Lakes region prices were impacted by an Exxon Mobil fuel refinery southwest of Chicago went offline over the weekend along with the national impact of unrest in the Middle East.

Thursday also marked another all-time high for diesel fuel average price in Wisconsin at $6.19.

The national average price for unleaded was $4.43 on Thursday, up 16 cents from a week ago and $1 from a year ago, according to AAA.

Both Illinois ($4.78) and Michigan ($4.75) moved into the top 10 most expensive states for a gallon of unleaded gas nationally.

The least expensive states include Indiana ($3.92), Texas ($3.93), Mississippi ($3.93), Louisiana ($3.97) and Alabama ($3.99).
