Kimball Township - Fatal Rollover Crash on I-94

Kimball Township, MI – St. Clair County deputies and emergency responders were dispatched to eastbound I-94 between Wadhams Road and Gratiot Road late Saturday night after reports of a vehicle leaving the roadway. At approximately 11:42 p.m. on September 19, 2026, authorities received a notification from dispatch and an iPhone crash alert originating from the same area.

Upon arrival, first responders from the Sheriff’s Office, Kimball Township Fire, and Tri-Hospital EMS located a single vehicle in a ditch on the east side of the highway with apparent rollover damage. The sole occupant, a 26-year-old male from Port Huron, was found partially ejected and trapped beneath the wreckage. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial reports indicate that no other vehicles were involved in the crash. The St. Clair County Crash Investigation Team is currently conducting an inquiry into the circumstances. Authorities stated that speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the incident.
