Oakland County Man Arraigned on Felony Charges in Stadium Shooting

Oakland County, MI – An Auburn Hills man was arraigned Wednesday, September 16, 2026, on four felony charges in connection with a shooting that left two people injured at Wisner Stadium. Sherwood Lennard Jackson Jr., 37, appeared before the Honorable Judge Rhonda M. Gross in 50th District Court.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson faces one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, and two counts of felony firearm. Judge Gross set bond at $10 million cash, with a tether requirement if he is released.

Deputies responded to the stadium at approximately 1:02 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026, following reports of a shooting that wounded a 19-year-old Pontiac man and an assault involving a 27-year-old Pontiac woman struck in the head with a handgun. Authorities stated that deputies located Jackson based on witness information and recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun from his person.

The shooting victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and was released later that evening. Jackson is currently held at the Oakland County Jail. He is scheduled for a probable cause conference on September 29, 2026, followed by a preliminary examination on October 6, 2026.
