Adrian M-52 Paving Project Begins September 14

Adrian, MI – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced that a road improvement project on M-52 is scheduled to commence on Monday, September 14, 2026.

According to MDOT, the project will focus on paving M-52, also known as the Adrian Highway, from Curtis Road to Valley Road. Work is expected to continue until Wednesday, November 25, 2026. During the construction period, crews will be active between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

Motorists are advised that the project will require daily single-lane and shoulder closures to ensure the safety of workers and drivers. MDOT officials anticipate that these restrictions will cause traffic delays in the area. Drivers are encouraged to plan their commutes accordingly while crews work to provide a smoother, safer road surface.

The $2.6 million investment is expected to support 22 jobs, both directly and indirectly, based on current economic modeling. This project is part of the Department of Transportation's ongoing efforts to maintain infrastructure within the University Region.
