St. Clair Township Police Make Arrest After I-94 Road Rage Incident

St. Clair Township, MI – The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office reported a road rage incident that occurred on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. A motorist contacted Central Dispatch at 3:50 p.m. to report that his vehicle had been shot at while traveling eastbound on I-94 near Wadhams Road.

Authorities stated that a witness driving behind the victim captured the incident on a dash camera, which provided critical evidence including the suspect's license plate number. Following this lead, deputies conducted a follow-up investigation at a residence in Port Huron Township, where a 46-year-old male was taken into custody.

The freeway was temporarily shut down by law enforcement to facilitate a search for evidence related to the shooting. Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the altercation.

The investigation remains ongoing as the Sheriff's Office processes evidence collected from the scene. The suspect, whose name has not been released pending further investigation, remains in police custody.
