St. Louis Police Apprehend Carjacking Suspect Following Pursuit

St. Louis, MO – A suspect is currently in custody following a violent series of carjackings that disrupted the city early Monday, September 14, 2026. St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officials confirmed the arrest after a coordinated response from their Real-Time Crime Center.

According to police reports, the suspect allegedly began a spree near North Broadway and I-70. Authorities state that the suspect first successfully carjacked a box truck before moving on to attempt a second carjacking, which failed. The individual then managed to steal a Honda CRV to continue the rampage.

Law enforcement officials tracked the stolen vehicle as it moved through the city. Real-Time Crime Center technology ultimately located the suspect near the intersection of North Grand and Natural Bridge. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver refused to yield, triggering a vehicular pursuit through city streets.

During the chase, officers successfully deployed spike strips, effectively disabling the Honda CRV and bringing the pursuit to an end. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. No injuries to bystanders or officers were immediately reported, though the investigation remains ongoing. Police have cited this result as a success of technology and inter-departmental coordination in protecting the public.
